Aesthetic Medicine was founded in France in 1978 by the French endocrinologist J.J.Legrand as a new medical, multi disciplinary specialty. It integrates the comprehensive scientific research with various activities from the field of dermatology, phlebotomy, nutrition, sport medicine, non surgical aesthetic procedures, plastic surgery, endocrinology and so on.

The aesthetic aspect of the human body is highly relevant in medical theory and practice. Aesthetic Medicine primarily deals with physical imperfections, but the ultimate purpose is much broader. It tends to promote and stimulate the construction and reconstruction of the individual’s physical and mental equilibrium, through the activation of medical, educational, social, preventive and corrective, curative and rehabilitative modalities.
